About

My practice has closed as of August 2017. I will be transitioning to retirement and the pursuit of new adventures with my spouse as we enjoy more time for travel, music, hobbies and family. I wish you the very best.

A letter from Rush

Before starting this consulting practice, I had the pleasure of working with several outstanding companies in senior leadership positions learning what works, and what just flat doesn’t work, in accomplishing business objectives.

I’ve had the good fortune to partner through several exceptionally well-organized mergers; and to clean up after some disasters. I also have lived with P&L accountability as a line manager, been the trusted advisor to executives driving multi-hundred million dollar business enterprises, led numerous corporate re-organizations, and provided the thought leadership to drive organizational change at a mid-sized regional bank, a Fortune 100 national bank, a multi-member owned electronic funds transfer company, and a nationally respected AmLaw 100 law firm.

After starting my career as a lawyer for a Virginia regional bank, I fairly quickly migrated to business management and human capital management. As a lawyer, I could find no better way to keep my company out of legal entanglements than to ensure good processes and systems. Over the years I’ve been asked to lead all aspects of human resources, develop several start-up lines of business, and serve as an executive coach to some senior executives whom I’ve greatly admired.

Today, I work with owners and leadership teams to improve the performance of their businesses through creatively aligning issues around people with business objectives. I also help organizations get the right policies and tools in place to improve talent acquisition, talent development and risk mitigation. Where others might look at the financials, I look at people – the human capital that drives success. Over the years, I’ve found that issues around people account for 65-70% of the opportunity for significant business performance improvement.

If you would like to talk with me about your organization, I’d enjoy listening and asking a few questions. I may be able to offer you some thoughts you’ll find useful. Our conversation will be completely confidential and without any obligation or cost, other than some of your time.

Cordially,
Rush
